This site is the online face of a year-long conversation with people the length and breadth of the UK to discover their thoughts on what it means to live hopefully.

Are you in your 20s or 30s? This is the first UK national website specifically engaging with issues that affect you. They don’t claim to have all the answers. The idea is to provoke thought and discussion, to ask questions, to share resources, experience and practical advice. Lookingatlife is part of the charity Care for the Family, which is motivated by the Christian faith, but wants to be accessible to everyone, to those with faith or with none.

Did you see The Golden Compass or have you read Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy with your children? Tony Watkins  wrote the first book to critique Pullman’s work from a Christian perspective (Dark Matter: A Thinking Fan’s Guide to Philip Pullman). You can read Tony’s interview with the author on Culturewatch on this website. Tony writes: ‘At the end of the day I profoundly disagree with Pullman’s atheist perspective on life, but I think that he’s a brilliant writer and that there is an awful lot in these books which makes them well worth reading.’ There is more on Pullman’s work from a Christian perspective on Beliefnet.com.
