Seeds of hope

One man’s journey from near death to new life

Gram Seed is living proof that Jesus is alive and still changing lives today. After years in prison, and addicted to drink and drugs, his body finally gave up. Kept alive on ‘life support’, he was prayed for by Christians. He came round from the six-day coma, spent time in rehabilitation and subsequently attended an Alpha Course. His life was transformed when he became a Christian.

Jesus- The Great I am
Jesus - The Great I Am

Countless people have made great claims for themselves over the centuries – military men, politicians, cult leaders, athletes and stars of stage and screen. No doubt they all had their brief moment of glory but were eventually reduced to dust and ashes. Naturally we are cynical about people who make great claims for themselves. We accuse them of bragging or pulling a fast one - but time will always tell.

No-one made greater claims for himself than J

Internet Safety tips for parents

Internet safetytips for parents

Care for the familyThe internet is a source of concern for many parents. Media scare stories abound. And it doesn’t help that our kids often know more about the internet than we do! As with anything, the internet has both positive and negative aspects. While there are several things every parent needs to consider about their kids growing up in a virtual world, it’s also good to recognise the internet as an unparalleled source of information, education, and relaxation

Sporting Marvels takes its message to the heart of Welsh Government

You may have heard that the US White House has prayer breakfasts but it was news to me that the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff Bay has taken up the idea. Earlier this year, a fit team from the Christian charity Sporting Marvels went along to share their work with Assembly members.

Sporting Marvels’ chief: his journey from rugby to God

Phil became a Christian on the 21st February 1993. He describes the event as the most fantastic moment of his life and a massive turning point.
A law graduate who was born to a good family, Phil’s pre-Christian life (he was once described as ‘an intellectual thug’) was one of unfulfilled potential. In all areas - career, academic, sport, and in his personal life - Phil readily admits that he under-achieved and th

Be Careful not to be Too Critical

Be careful not to be too critical!

As a ‘dinosaur’, I must not unfairly criticise today’s teenagers. I remember well (perhaps not that well!) that as a teenage rebel I wondered why preceding generations had been involved in two world wars if they were so much better than my friends and I. Also, older generations have made millions by dictating fashions, fads, music and life-styles to peer-conscious teenagers whom they then blames for unruliness.

Going for Gold This Time

Going for gold this time

By Stuart Weir

The Henley Regatta was first held in 1839 and has been held annually ever since. It has become a British institution. The 2008 Regatta takes place 2-6 July. For Debbie Flood the regatta is a favourite event. To start with, she lives in Henley and is a member of the Leander Club which runs the event. Her dog Charlie thinks he is a member of the club – don’t mention the time he helpfully gathered up all the rowers’ shoes and put them
