School place prompts Alpha  Jenny Bamsey only went on the Alpha Course to gain her son a place in a church school. What she discovered changed her family. Jenny: I wasn’t a Christian at all but I decided to go on the Alpha course basically to get my son into a church school. I was doing it for my son, but little did I know that God was doing it for me and my family. I learnt to pray on Alpha, I got comfortable with it. My prayers started to be answered in my family life. There was an empty house opposite mine and one particular prayer was that a really good family that would support me would move in. Well, the leader of what became my church moved in. When I was doing Alpha, my husband was happy because it would get my son into school but every time I came home he would take the mickey out of me and wind me up about it. [Since then], we’ve become a massive part of the church. We’ve helped on an Alpha course and now we’ve been asked to lead an Alpha course. Matt (Jenny’s husband): I thought she’d gone crazy but a year later I decided to go on an Alpha course to see what it was all about and it has totally transformed me. I met with the Holy Spirit (who gives us the power to change our lives) and the experience has brought peace and joy to our family.
