| Looking at Life in your 20's and 30's |
|
20s & 30s ‘help each other out’ on our new website As 20 and 30-somethings, we’ve noticed that there’s a lot of stuff thrown at us in life - some of it good, some of it not, and much of it just confusing. Whether it’s a mortgage, a marriage, a screaming baby, a thesis, a broken car, a broken heart, or a broken toe – one thing we do know, it’s good to talk about it. Last year we ran a survey. We asked people in this age group what issues confront them on a daily basis. We soon discovered some recurring themes... work, money, self-image, relationships... and we decided to make a website. www.lookingatlife.org.uk is the first UK national website specifically engaging with issues that affect those in their 20s and 30s. We don’t claim to have all the answers. The idea is to provoke thought and discussion, to ask questions, to share resources, experience and practical advice. Most of all, we want to do this together. We’re all in the same boat (or similar ones), no man is an island, two heads are better than one, and other metaphors as well. This website is about looking at life: turning it upside down, inside out, and trying to figure out what on earth we’re meant to be doing with it.

In case you were wondering, Lookingatlife is part of the charity Care for the Family, which is motivated by the Christian faith, but wants to be accessible to everyone, to those with faith or with none. We won’t ever say that we’re right and you’re wrong. We just think that looking at life is a good thing to do, and that helping each other out is a fairly brilliant idea as well. And that’s about it. (You can find out more about Care for the Family here: www.careforthefamily.org.uk ) So please, grab a cuppa and make yourself at home. Read articles, watch videos, listen to podcasts, do quizzes! and then head to the lounge and tell us what you think. Send us stuff. Join the conversation. |
