Bus adverts are making us think about the meaning of life. Adverts for the Alpha course asked Londoners what question they would ask God. These adverts prompted an atheist advertising campaign announcing ‘There’s probably no God’. Funds to support this campaign struggled until Prof Richard Dawkins agreed to match all donations. One of the most unlikely donors was the Christian think tank Theos, who donated £50 because the banners had actually prompted people to think about God. The second line tells people ‘So stop worrying and enjoy life.’ Theos suggests this is an empty message that shows atheism offers little comfort to people concerned about the recession.During the Christmas period Message on the Move (MEMO), a ministry dedicated to spreading the Good News on public transport networks for 125 years, ran a seasonal advertising campaign on 200 Look out for further MEMO campaigns across the country which point people to the website www.ygod.info.
